I've been there though...a number of years ago, there was a bubble of warm air only over a 2 or 3 county wide area...with snow everywhere else. Warm bubble extended up to 850mb (which is just absurd) with zero chance of it eroding. Stayed heavy rain and 37/38 the entire time. Talk about being pissed off.
