I forgot which NESIS storm it was, but it was a storm back in the 1960s that dumped 30"+ on ME and NH, that storm would be a perfect analog.

You are thinking of feb 1969...this upcoming storm is different in almost every single way possible. More like the perfect "anti" analog.

this is moving way too fast for anyone to get 30 inches

This.  I don't see anyone in SNE getting more than 12".  I'm guessing for the all snow zones 6-12" others with taint anywhere from 3-8" going to zilch where rain is more prevalent.

Meanwhile, Bethel Maine looks like a fine place to be.

How so Will?

Feb 1969 was a slow retrograding storm from way out east that backed in and lasted for days. It was a very slow blocked up pattern. Totally different storm evolution and totally different pattern. This upcoming storm is in a fast flow and will try to bomb out very quickly before being whisked away to the east. There's no relevant comparison to the two storms other than both may bring snowfall to New England and maybe the heaviest will be in Maine. You could say that about a thousand storms though so it's not a very notable distinction.

Will, we're supposed to be headed to our house in extreme NE PA (northern Wayne Cty) at 1600' elevation Thursday and are worried about snow. Tho they definitely don't get the brunt of this, are you seeing like 3-6" there and into the Catskills?

worried about snow there? you should be happy pulling the sleighs out the shed finally. ;)

Well we're going to go up but we could drive Wednesday night instead of Thursday afternoon. My dad has a tiny commuter car and Route 17 is pretty windy so it's not the greatest ride in poor conditions.

Believe me I'm thrilled cause it's going to snow there Thursday from the Nor'easter, Friday from the arctic FROPA, and Saturday night from the clipper. Awesome weekend and should be great for the ski resorts.
