moneypitmike
For what seems to be the first time in probably 3 hours or more, I can kind of make out my 1/4 markings. EDIT: That was short-lived!!
JC-CT
nice multi-faceted, multi-day event ... obsviously we're snowing over to mix ... then there's some icing concern in the interior and to some extent on the coast for a period tonight should these hi resolution ideas of 'slosh' back ageostrophic push takes place. we bust out on the coastal plain tomorrow am? ...not so sure it's that cut and dry in the interior but will go ahead with it anyway. but, the 12z NAM solution might actually bring a wind concern back to the coastal plain/s-se sections as those regions are busting into better mixed warmth tomorrow afternoon and the wind at BOS is 33 kt steady mid boundary layer. That's pretty good - then, the front comes through and sweeps modified arctic air good for mid 20s cold right back sweeping through in the evening and what ever is on the roads in the interior and coast at that time flashes over to ice at a rate that would make a Zamboni envious -Yeah it does seem to be a flash freeze situation

moneypitmike
BOX has upped the ante. Perhaps not enough. I'd also be hard pressed to think anyone out this way has not already easily surpassed the low end of that range. his Afternoon Snow...then snow likely...a chance of freezing rain and sleet. Total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. Additional ice accumulation around a trace. Not as cool with highs in the lower 30s. South winds around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent. Hopefully you can get into that and stay there until it stops. I did a 6-hour clearing at my last measurement, so from here out I'll do 'new' and 'total'. Given the lightness, there's probably not been much in the way of compaction. But just the same.... 18.
