Lol so far the typical non wind event ...So far anyway.   Just breezy...nothing exciting at all.

Typical underperforming wind forecast.

WINDEX, wind, backlash, anafront, inv troughs very seldom do a damn thing for me.

Just my own preference bc I know Steve will want to attack...

6/-2. Cold is performing ok but wind is meh'.   Peak gist of 24mph.   Don't even have that familiar roar up above that I usually hear in big wind events.

I can't tell you how many times they call for roaring winds/gusts, and nothing comes of it.

i mean, is it really that tricky to forecast winds ..even a few hours prior??

Ya no roar here either.  Maybe it picks up later?  But I doubt it.

E. Of the Taconics W of the River, you don't count in NWS wind forecasts unless it is a thunderstorm.  Same here except, E of the Berks W of the River.

I'm in Northeast RI. We just got hammered for maybe 20 minutes with some serious winds. NWS definition of sustained winds:  Wind speed determined by averaging observed values over a two-minute period.

So I'm wondering if we had more than a series of gusts. Anyone on now in my area who has a similar story? My house has made new noises in these winds. The roar was pretty intense. Hopefully reports will show something in this area at around 1130p. Smithfield, North Smithfield, Cumberland area in RI.
