In all seroiusness though - yes the cold temps leading in are impressive. Still not convinced MBY down here in the DC suburbs will see much.

It's not the temps that I fear because I think will be some Evap cooling but the precip just won't be there.  now if I saw a warm front lifting through North and South Carolina right now I'd be excited.  just give me less than 50 on Christmas and I'll call it a winter

Rgem didn't back down much at all. Almost the same as 12z. Wide swath of .4+ through most of the area by 12z.

That would be .6 of an inch of ice

18z RGEM meteogram at DCA would like to say no power for you (15-16mm of ice = about 0.6 tenths of an inch... hope its wrong... probably is, but its been consistent past few runs and hitting the region hard with freezing rain)

We haven't done an ice storm in almost 23 years- I don't expect much to change in that regard.
