Also, that area of the island is the snowiest. It has the highest elevation and is on the north shore. Elevation in that area is consistently between 250 and 300 feet.

That was my point, they do always show that blob in marginal events whereas that "blob" most likely should extend to the majority of the island 

Been living here my whole life...that is the snowiest part of the island.

Nope, much colder airmass in place. Central Park will definitely receive more than the 0.4" they got last storm. Still thinking 2-4 NYC (except maybe places like JFK/Coney Island) and 3-5" for the immediate suburvs. I still like aroumd 3" for Hunts Point.

With llj and high retreating I don't see that much for NYC. The qpf continues to tick down
