One thing they do have right is the isentropic lift. A few progs I looked at this morning were 65-70 knots of pure sloped ascent.

CT Valley Snowman
Typical SWFE here, the gates of warmth just love to come flooding in. Poor high placement FTL but 2" is my biggest of the year and it looks pretty.
Damage In Tolland
Snow/ sleet mix. Surface temps colder than modeled should give N CT a few hours extra of zr. Maybe that locks pack in. Can hope anyway

moneypitmike
IIRC, I ended up with 4.8" in that surprise event in early November(???). I'm hopeful that today will beat that. I'll be taking my first measurement when the dog demands to go out. 3" on the nose. Ripping good flakes. 25.

OceanStWx
Not massive flakes, but real nice dendrites just pouring from the sky. It's piling up pretty quickly. Looks like I made that first measurement of 1" about 2 hours ago. So we've been ripping along at 1"/hr since then.

OceanStWx
Good news for folks farther north. As the stronger lift arrives, it's slowing the advance of the warm air some. You can see how CC showed BOS was toast around 30 minutes ago and moving N fast. But as the stronger lift moved in, that CC ring got beat back to the South Shore. Now it's still RA in BOS, but for interior NE MA this could be a big deal.

And the advisory looks good here maybe if we even reach advisory criteria. Radar says we don't do well with heavy echoes to our south, our new and our sweet but not redeveloping in this direction.
