wxeyeNH
Congrats to Alex in NH for probably jackpotting for NH/VT. Just saw a report from Gray showing 29" in his area as of 730pm (Actually that was Jefferson). Also I noted that Eyewall is very happy and yet again the Maine guys did really well. My 9" brings me up to 67" for the season. Nice to be above average for mid February. Looks like quiet times ahead after any Wednesday possibilites. I am definitely thrilled as I was not expecting to score double digit snowfall on this one and we did! I think we will actually be close to average on the season when the climo report comes out tomorrow.

J.Spin
Event totals: 16.8” Snow/0.91” L.E. The family was home on a snow day today so they put out a fresh snowboard at noontime and I was able to split out the liquid from the morning and afternoon/evening period. The morning snow was 2.1” with 0.06” of liquid, and the afternoon/evening data are below. The snow just keeps getting fluffier as the storm goes on. Details from the 8:00 P.M. Waterbury observations: New Snow: 1.6 inches New Liquid: 0.02 inches Snow/Water Ratio: 80.0 Snow Density: 1.3% H2O Temperature: 22.5 F Sky: Light Snow (2-12 mm flakes) Snow at the stake: 21.0 inches
eyewall
Snow depth on the latest climo report out of BTV was 12 inches. BTV reported 7.6 and 3.6 inches on the 12th and 13th respectively for a storm total of 11.2 inches. We are seeing flurries out of clear sky this morning.Sent from my VS987 using Tapatalk
J.Spin
Event totals: 18.1” Snow/0.93” L.E. Accumulation from the back side of Winter Storm Orson was 1.3” overnight, with some light snow continuing. I remember looking at the GFS and seeing 6 to 7 panels worth of snow for the system, and indeed it proceeded just like that, with essentially continuous snowfall right through this morning. It’s starting to clear out now, so I suspect I’ll have just one more accumulations report from this storm. Details from the 6:00 A.M. Waterbury observations: New Snow: 1.3 inches New Liquid: 0.02 inches Snow/Water Ratio: 65.0 Snow Density: 1.5% H2O Temperature: 15.1 F Sky: Light Snow (1-5 mm flakes) Snow at the stake: 21.5 inches I checked my data, and indeed there has been quite a dearth of large storms in the area in the past few seasons. There hasn’t been a storm of this size in my records in roughly four years.

Underhill reported just 3.8" on the west slopes. Yeah, I think our location is probably one of the more “centered” locations out there with respect to the spine – geographically we might actually be a bit east, but being right in the Winooski Valley there’s plenty of access to the west. There’s not really a downslope direction as PF has said. It would probably be a tough spot for “jackpot” types, but it’s a pretty amazing spot for consistency. tamarack
Lost my snowpack lead to an observer from Winthrop (2 towns W from Augusta), 49" this morning while I had 45, down 2" from last night. This storm was a fraternal twin to Dec 29-30, each dumping 21" but in different fashion. The Dec event included far more intense snowfall, 17" in one 7-hr period. For the latter one, I had 12" of 13:1 snow in 12 hr overnight, then maybe 1" from 7A to 11A, followed by 6" in 8 hr. This last was 10:1 at best, small windblown flakes. Winds were modest until that last band arrived, then lots of blowing snow. Season total is now 6-8" above my winter average and just short of twice last winter.
