You can tell the snow accums based on the amount sitting on that tree to the right.  That's a sweet quick duration dump.  Finally a Winter Storm Warning level event in the BTV area.

yeah for sure and the depths will be nice for this area after midweek.

Went to a baked bean dinner in your old town of Peacham today. There are a lot of beautiful places in this state but that town is near the top. Absolutely gorgeous. I guess that's why they say it's the most photographed town in the state. The snowmobile trails were great and the baked beans delicious. With all the snow falling, it was a quintessential New England day.

Just drove from Stowe to Waterbury, confirmed cranking and simply lovely out there. Roads in good shape though, the boys in big orange trucks are doing a fine job.

Also from the AFD, this line is great!

GEM/GFS and ECMWF show favorable upslope flow of 25 to 35 knots and
plenty of deep moisture across our region on Thursday...so free
refills along the western slopes and northern dacks looks likely.

Event totals: 10.7” Snow/0.69” L.E.

The hourly depth observations below show how the rate of snowfall snowed down somewhat during the middle of this accumulation block, but it’s since picked back up again:

Time - Hourly Accumulation

7:00 P.M. – 1.2”

8:00 P.M. – 0.5”

9:00 P.M. – 0.3”

10:00 P.M. – 0.4”

11:00 P.M. – 0.9”

12:00 A.M. – 1.5”

Winter Storm Orson is actually vying for largest of the season here, only about an inch more is needed to reach the 11.6” from Winter Storm Argos back in mid-November.

Details from the 12:00 A.M. Waterbury observations:

New Snow: 4.8 inches

New Liquid: 0.22 inches

Snow/Water Ratio: 21.8

Snow Density: 4.6% H2O

Temperature: 25.2 F

Sky: Snow (2-9 mm flakes)

Snow at the stake: 19.0 inches

Event totals: 13.1” Snow/0.83” L.E.

Snowfall at the house is currently light, but the flakes are quite large with diameters up to 15 mm, so it’s accumulating fairly efficiently.

Details from the 6:00 A.M. Waterbury observations:

New Snow: 2.4 inches

New Liquid: 0.14 inches

Snow/Water Ratio: 17.1

Snow Density: 5.8% H2O

Temperature: 24.4 F

Sky: Light Snow (5-15 mm flakes)

Snow at the stake: 20.5 inches
