HoarfrostHubb
A little snow I could take but Freezing drizzle is not great for travel
CoastalWx
I basically see this as a -SN to FZDZ issue give or take. Already concerned for KORH. Mid level RH is better pike north for snow. Just has the look of a band of -SN from mid level WAA push then crappy FZDZ or SG. Maybe another weak burst with better 850 WAA push?
weathafella
What a nuke for eastern MA including Boston over the weekend on the 18z GFS.
USCAPEWEATHERAF
Yeah definitely weatherfella, the GFS coolwx.com sounding shows great lift in the DGZ for the 27th, but it is too warm still for that system, with a H5 low moving southeast of Cape Cod we will see a much colder scenario unfold. ORH_wxman
NAM says nothing south of the pike for morning...a 2nd round tries to work in during the evening.

Thanks, Scott. Timing isn't great but MA highway is pretty good with their assessment and allocation on RT 2 for winter events. If morning models look icy for Thursday AM we'll just leave tomorrow night.

USCAPEWEATHERAF
NAM remains quite cold for our region.
USCAPEWEATHERAF
Decent shortwave ridging ahead of the Saturday shortwave disturbance up to 250mb. Decent jet streak present. Upper level dynamic disturbance for our Saturday coastal low. Could be quite potent.

USCAPEWEATHERAF
NAM doesn't impress me at hour 84, the lows are northwest of the region and flood the mid levels with warmth.

Prob south of pike it's nothing though there could be a bit of snow in N CT elevations. But this still looks like a nice little band for CNE and N of pike perhaps...and we have to watch for FZDZ
ORH_wxman
The 00z Euro really likes the burst that occurs Thursday evening for SNE/CNE...would be interior elevations that see frozen from this. It it still has the morning snows too but mainly north of the pike and into NNE.
