bluewave
Even for a La Nina, this is an impressive temp spread between Montana and Florida. The -EPO drop this month probably prevented another +3 or greater December here.

pazzo83
We're in another stretch of above-freezing temps at the Park - seems to be common every winter now. The last 32 or below reading was 9am on Wed, Dec 21st. Upton has us getting into the upper 20s overnight tomorrow, so that should end it. But that's like a 10 day stretch. It's even more remarkable that 2010 was the coldest December on record there. 2016....77.4 2015....77.2 1931....75.4 2013....75.1 2007....74.9 2006....74.

UlsterCountySnowZ
GFS takes that storm next week and gave it the old GGEM, blows it up, this timeframe might be our shot at a significant warning level event out in fantasy land, but EPS crushes everyone more towards burbs but 10+ for all with that storm next week

bluewave
If this rate of December warming persists, our Decembers later in this century will have a similar average temperature to November today near 47 degrees. So the historic December warmth last year will be a preview of what is closer to normal in the future if the trend continues.
