dryslot
I would stick with the RGEM, I would need to see the numbers on the 3k Nam's skill compared to the RGEM from hr 36 in

What I mean is if you are looking a snowmaps..for example .. the Rgem just just shows a general outline without showing specific terrain in terms of resolution accuracy. Compare the 12z Rgem with the 3km NAM snow maps..Not that it's performance is better. We don't know if it is or isn't.
Hazey
St. Lawrence river track seems to be preferred on the 12z GFS. Hopefully that sags south over time.

klw
Nice to see the 12Z GFS with the annual Grinch storm on the 22nd. That would be a nice Christmas mood killer.
Typhoon Tip
that looks like decent "sw flow event" there on the last several cycles of the operational gfs ...now day 5.5 from 12z this morning. its been quite consistent with a taking some weak/moderate intensity cyclone through the BUF route with enough boundary layer resistance to the east of new england to prevent warm sector penetration ... leaving the region in an ib burst that probably ends as light drizzle/freezing drizzle. total speed of system translation in a screaming anomalous neptunian flow is probably actually helping that because it's shut off and backside lock down about as fast as it swaths through.
