Rd9108
I don't feel like posting the maps but the CMC and GFS both show some snow showers rolling through Christmas eve. Wouldn't be a lot but even a dusting and snow in the air would be a win.

CoraopolisWx
Hey, Pitt beat Clemson. So mabey we can pull off this upset also. Lol But in reality, KPIT only needs 1" on 12/25 to make it official. That might be easier than getting the 1" snowpack to be on the ground from 12/24 into 12/25. colonel717
Check out how much of the country is below freezing. Too bad its 2 weeks away..
Rd9108
From the MA section GEFS looks pretty tasty around 240-270 before breaking things down a but. The WAR and EPO ridges link up through Greenland and the pole, squashing the PV into Hudson Bay with E-W trough orientation through Canada. Still some SE ridge, but there would still be plenty of cold around with that pattern. I'd like to see this continue for a few runs. Seems like recent runs lost the -NAO look, but this brings it back briefly at least.
CoraopolisWx
Mabey we can use the WAR to our advantage this season. Most of the time the WAR is too strong, and forces everything too far west. But hopefully with the right timing, we can get a Gulf low to find a way along the edge of the WAR, just east of the App's.
MikeB_01
I like the pattern flip for the end of the month. After this, it looks like it moderates a little, but if the teleconnections continue in the direction they are going, i don't buy the moderation. MikeB_01
Also thinking that this might be our next system to start watching. Something to this measure has been showing up on GFS runs for the past few times. I know its out in fantasy land, but i'm willing to track almost anything after how boring this week has been. I agree, a little bit of WAR or SE ridge could help push the storm track a bit further inland so seeing that feature isn't as bad for us as compared to those on the coast. I'd like to see that -PNA weaken some because imho that is what is dumping the troughs into the west, if we can move that axis east a bit then its game on for us, especially if we get a good -epo to continually replenish cold air in Canada. Anyways, waiting for my daughter to wake up this morning and just wanted to wish you all a Merry Christmas! Hopefully Santa has a nice WPA snow storm in his bag for us in the near future! Rd9108
NAO, AO, EPO, WPO all look to go slightly to moderately negative. PNA stays slightly negative but with every other teleconnection favorable it should make most people optimistic.
