Met1985
It may be a long shot but the gfs and nam to an extent both show a bit of upslope snow late tonight into tomorrow morning. I may bust hard on this but I have been watching the winds shift to more off the Lakes upstream than earlier. Again I could be crazy.

Btw, the roads are horrible in Yancey County. Tried to go out to dinner this evening and we turned around. When it's this cold after a storm, DOT can't do much. When it's this cold after a storm, DOT can't do much. Davis station up the hill reported a gust of 66 around 8:30 but I was still at work (12 hours of Walmart today, yay). Currently reporting gusts to 40. Face goes numb as soon as you step outside. Definitely the coldest conditions I've ever personally been in. Seen colder air temps but not with the wind. Crazy. All our main and big secondary roads up here are good. Some of the backroads are disasters, though. Really enjoying having my Subaru, though, handles a lot better than my Jeep did. LOL.... when our 7-12 inches of snow across the region melts, we can talk about that.

Met1985
Just talked to a buddy of mine who lives on Hemphill at 4000 feet. Said he had a low of negative 9. He is one not to exaggerate either because he hates the cold.

Tyler Penland
Topped out at 11 and currently 10. Roommate and I went up on the Parkway from the viaduct to Rough Ridge and it was COLD. Wind chills around -20 to -30 at times. Coldest hike I've ever done and it made getting pics very difficult. I'll upload a couple once I get them processed. SnoJoe
Had a high today of 9.4°. Back down to 3.7 but thank goodness the wind has mostly died down. Don't think a flake has melted here. It looks exactly the same as it did Sat morning when it quit snowing. I don't think it's even compressed any. Schools are out tomorrow and probably for another day or two. Met1985
Another cold night. Might be colder tonight than lady night. Current temp is at 6 degrees. I think this has been the best we have retained snow like this in several years. Usually it has snowed then warmed right back up.
