SabreAce33
If this thing is so close to the coast, does that introduce mixing issues for those east of I-95? Or is it cold enough?

HM
An early occlusion and vertical stacked low would significantly reduce the northward extent of the major snows. However, this run is absolutely historic and would be a top 5 storm for the Mid Atlantic if it came to fruition.
ptb127
NOT its in an arctic air mass Would that yield high ratios the further you get away from the coast??

HM
Where'd the high come from? This is turning into a roll-over ridge setup allowing confluence to build into Ontario/Quebec and build high pressures.
WeatherNC
972 and almost stalls The qpf is very very impressive . Almost all the whole Carolinas have atleast .75, and if you get into eastern half of NC, you're in some incredibly deep snow. This is DC , last year, it would appear, but centered in central and eastern NC. SE VA too!
stormtracker
N VA and central MD at this time getting hammered. That's a city closer right there. I dunno man, the Euro has been totally consistent with this. What is it seeing or missing that the GFS can't grasp (and maybe correctly so)

waldo5252
What does this mean to a lehman like me? I thought we were getting worried because the other models were trending east thus leaving the EURO with no backup. Now the EURO gives us what we want and no backup is OK?? I am confused, sorry for being an idiot on the topic I just like reading all your discussions and am trying to get a feel for it. I was told to wait to hear Wes say Orgasmic before I get excited and have not heard that yet, so I guess I am still playing the waiting game for SOMD??
