Last trolling ( I did live in the VA area for 47 years ) ... Took a ton of photos on my hike into the back country today. . Mountains were amazing, hiked 3-1/2 miles in until my poor dog absolutely could not walk any farther in the deepening snow pack ..  Just an FYI 2 Octobers ago I hiked to the summit of the mountain in the photo with temps near 70 and just a scattering of dirty snow fields and glaciers.  So this is a huge storm for so early in the season.

No, please keep posting, it helps to know the rest of the US isn't suffering like this in October.

83.9 for a high here, won't be a record as 85 in 1984 will stand, still WAY too hot for mid October.

NWS needs to get a clue about this slight 20 percent chance of rain tonight.

I was out on another jebwalk at 11pm tonight! I GOT SOAKED! MY PHONE IS USELESS!

20 percent chance of rain! Get a fruckin' clue , NWS! We've had rain ever since 1040pm and it it still coming down, heavy at times! And it ruined my jebwalk!

You guys need to go back to met school, last century!

If anyone needs digging out up there, tell em to call the Jebman. Snowblowers are for old men!

If digging snow was an Olympic sport, I would have ten times as many gold medals as Michael Phelps, and I would never retire! I'd coach people in the Northeast on how to shovel snow. People living in weathafella land do NOT have a clue about how to dig snow. All they do is sit on a deep couch shoving jelly doughnuts in their fat faces, makin excuses about why they cant shovel the snow and crying for others to do it for them. I am the butterflyer of snow shovelers, I always break Olympic and World Records when I clear snow and I always build up the tallest piles of snow, absolutely GUARANTEED to make people weep with embarrassment.

I am The Jebman, and I approve this message.

LOL.  Love it.

So glad this is the last day of this heat wave.  Mowed the yard last night in nothing but shorts and was a sweaty mess... and swarmed by bugs.  Get this crap out of here.

I flew back from Germany on Tuesday, dressed in long sleeves for the cool German day and the cranked up AC on the plane.

It made for a sweaty trip through customs and baggage claim at Dulles (and then onto my connecting flight to fly to central PA to get my son from his grandparents house)

Yep, son is gonna be the same, he is flying in today. They had an inch or two of snow yesterday morning, coming to this heat.

It's Heaven, duh!

Ha it is pretty Heavenly.  Again this kind of snow is a month early but perhaps it will be one of those 600" plus seasons ?  The location is central Oregon.  The mountain in the photo from yesterday is Broken Top.  Depending on the visibility I can see up to a dozen Volcanic Mountains from here from 7 to over 12 thousand feet.   Since there seems to be pleasure in the "snow porn"  Here are some more photos from yesterday and one from earlier this month.  And yes Jeb you could be quite satisfied shoveling here.   They sometimes have to close the ski lifts to dig them out from massive drifts.   Bend, the town I live in has dramatically different weather / The photo of the maples was also taken yesterday on the street where I live.   The serious snow line (where the snow just keeps piling up until late April) is currently about 14 miles from town, it drops to about 7 miles in the winter.  The last picture was taken on October 12th from a park downtown.

I have officially defected from the warmanistas. I am fed up to hell with these high dewpoints. Last night's jebwalk reminded me of July. Ugh.

I want a Siberian arctic front NOW! I want northerly winds gusting to 60 mph, get rid of those damn leaves, get that damned hot weather out of here and I need my wind chills. Let the front get stuck to the south, Let low after low ride along it and let the heavy snow fall, driven by 55 mph north wind gusts! Let the drifts begin!

I AM SICK TO DEATH OF THIS DAMN SUMMER WEATHER! BRING IT, OLD MAN WINTER! I WANT SEVERE COLD! I WANT 50 DEGREES IN THE HOUSE! KILL ALL THE VEGETATION WITH SEVERE FROST AND COLD!! I CRAVE ZERO VISIBILITIES AND WIND DRIVEN SNOW AND TRAFFIC ON I 95 BACKED UP FOR A THOUSAND MILES DUE TO A RECORD BLIZZARD!
