Anyone else find the weather this time of year (other then yesterday) incredibly boring?? November is my least favorite month in general. Once the leaves fall it's boring and gray until winter. At least December which has been awful the last few years has the holidays

Thanksgiving is far from awful. Favorite holiday of the year

The most impressive storm that I have experienced during November was the November 11th, 1995 high wind event.

This was probably the most damaging SSE to SSW flow event ahead of a deep low and cold front. Long Beach

had gusts to 75 mph with numerous trees down along with with shingles blown off roofs and several broken

windows from flying debris. The western half of the city was without power for 24 hours. I can imagine if

the forum was around back then how there would be a number of posts on  how this meant the winter of 95-96

was going to be all cutters running the Apps.;)

cutters in November are good.   Get an active storm track going.  But you're right, we'd all be freaking out....

Well we did get that one big flood cutter late in January 96 that wiped out the snowpack and caused the historic flash flooding.

I am glad that I wasn't living near a major interior NE river for that one. But all the streets turned into rivers on my drive home

that day here.

That was my favorite high wind event growing up after December 92. That was the storm that caused ocean parkway to be blocked with feet of sand and they had to plow to get it off. Numerous trees down in wantagh as well

38 here too. Will probably end the growing season for me here I think.  Was a great year for the garden as long as you kept the sprinkler on full throttle.
