dailylurker
Looks like the heat island effect from Baltimore has popped a cell right over the city.

High was 93 with a heat index in the mid-upper 90s... now it's 81. I hope today was the last 90+ day of the year.

Fozz
It's not really a "storm" anymore, but I guess a brief moderate shower is better than nothing.

H2O
Heat and dry fronts are the worst weather ever possible in the history of weather stuff and things why is all the main forcing always so north? Boggles the mind that such a drastic weather change has zero precip

I blame NPZ.

Fozz
I'm starting to wonder whether this month will become a bottom 10 September in terms of rainfall for those of us who've been missed. It's been awfully dry and the forecast calls for sunny or partly cloudy for days on end.
smokeybandit
Those 70s in the forecast this coming week largely disappeared but for one day

EastCoast NPZ
The best we can hope for, it seems, is near normal temps. Already, Wed is now forecast to 90F. Add in the always 'over-performance before the front', and we're looking at another day in the mid 90s. Oh, and no chance of rain in the next 7 days either. Stormpc
September is going to be warm. Accept it. Need to get to October. If its 85-90 in 3 weeks, I will look for a high bridge.

At that point, I'll have had .67" in the previous 6 weeks. I think that is unprecedented for the Aug-Sep period, even in my yard. 9/7: 0.04" Month: 0.04" Season: 0.04"
CAPE
0.05" over the last 3 weeks. I just scraped down (the fried vegetation) on the back 1/3 of my yard. Bought mulch and 15 plants yesterday that are full sun, drought tolerant. No more attempts at saving the grass. Gradually eliminating it.
