Left the ones upstairs in just in case we get a few of those sultry October nights from a lakes cutter. Exact same here. tamarack
Frosty 27 this morning, 7 days later than my average for 1st frost, though 3 days ahead of average for first freeze (28 or lower.) Woodstove in action since Saturday evening; yesterday's 55/33 with limited sun made the old Jotul happy.

Indeed it is. Prone to flooding from the Neponset River. Different than TAN. TAN is more like PYM/MVY with the sandy make up of the soil and a relatively low elevation of 43'. powderfreak
Amazing how low the sun angle is getting. Up here on the steep upper east side of Mamsfield the shadows are already growing across the top of the ski trails. I'm on upper Nosedive and we just lost the sun to the ridge, and it's not coming back. Sunset at this spot is 12:30pm lol. In November some of these steep northeast facing spots see a sunset of like 10:30-11am. Another reason the high east side holds snow like no one's business. Typhoon Tip
nice frost in Ayer this morning... thick on the car top because we condensated heavily before the moisture locked up - but it was soft frost... probably air T of 34 type stuff -

SE MA and S NJ are more low elevation/sandy soil related. http://www.wdtb.noaa.gov/courses/winterawoc/microclimates/DIX/IC43e_DIX_NJ_Pine_Barrens_GregHeavener.pdf

moneypitmike
Quite the heavy rains during the wee hours. The 3:00a.m. alarm is extra tough with the sound of the rain coming down. I'm really not looking to driving 100 miles through it this morning. Ugh.
