wxeyeNH
Convection blowing up on top of the LLC. This is the first time this has happened since Hermine left the NC coast. Don't know if it means much but could keep the storm stronger for a bit longer than a naked swirl in the center.

Street and yard getting filled with leaves and small dead twigs. Latest gust was 37. Surf along Misquamicut and Weekapaug beaches coming in groups of 5 to 8 swells every 2 to 3 minutes. Wave heights about 6 to 10 feet. Lots of surfers and onlookers. Dickies today

Hoth
Cool view towards Ct with the sun setting. Some of the best wind I've seen in a long time. Sure beats Irene or Sandy in Boston.
Hoth
Gotta be sustained tropical storm force now. Gotta be. It's trying to tear the rain spouts off the side of the house.

LikesNaturesFury
It probably isn't significant meterologically, but as the sun set today, the sky became pink, then lavender in the east. Normally the only colors at sunset here are in the west. My husband reminded me that the sky became pinkish/purple when the last hurricane came through (was it Irene?). As for that gust at PVD, we had a really nice (strong), rather long gust here at about the same time, although we are miles away from Warwick. CoastalWx
It's neat for September, but in winter it's a pedestrian event verbatim. Maybe for ack it's more impressive.

CT Valley Snowman
Wind really died off here, was gusting close to 30 earlier when I got home. Just got back from MWN, just amazing weather in the White Mountains this past weekend. Perfectly clear on the summit yesterday, pretty cool to see whats going in in SE areas now, hopefully everyone down there stays safe.

Sophisticated Skeptic
that ship's been driving us nuts in NYC thread. It's been stagnant data for awhile, and seems above normal when compared to the nearby buoys. It might be really badly calibrated..it's track throughout the day - http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/shipposition.phtml?call=PBIG
