It all evens out. We were dry in July, but starting in mid-August we got jackpotted on many events, from that crazy convergence line over northern long island which gave us 2 inches of rain, to Hermine raining over us for 3 days, to last night's deluge. I am looking at around 3-4 inches of rain in the past 3 weeks.

Last night's rain was some of the hardest since i have been in this house (18 months). Davis at one point had a rainfall rate of close to 3 inches an hour. It was pretty impressive.

Yes it does...It was wet here in July with 6" falling...landscape was lush and growing thru the summer, only recently is the drying out evident.

Going the other way here...0.84" past 30 days.

EWR running over 8" below normal now. Comparable to Islip status drought. Thank god for the rains we got in July or the area would have been under extreme drought conditions. Was driving around the county and pretty much everything grass wise is dead.

Hit 95 imvy..roasted at the RU game..but still love this weather..im enjoying the thick summer air tonight with a tear because I know its most likely the last of our summer nights

Yes it is. Thank god. Can't come soon enough.

That RU game must have been blazing especially for the players on the even hotter field. RU might wanna consider having early season home games at night in the future if we're just gonna have septembers like this

It's always the records that I have no desire to see broken getting broken :(

The January blizzard totals were a rare exception.

The Con Ed record energy usage surpassing the summer of 2010 was another one people probably didn't want to see.

http://www.naturalgasintel.com/articles/107691-con-ed-customers-drive-power-consumption-to-two-month-record

Con Edison of New York (Con Ed) said Thursday that its customers set a record for power consumption in July and August, using 13.29 million MW hours to run homes and businesses.

The previous record for usage in a two-month period, Con Ed said, was set in July and August 2010 when customers used 13.26 million MW hours. The company provides electric, natural gas and steam services to 3.4 million customers in New York City and Westchester County, where other records were set last month.

A very impressive 38 days with a minimum of 75 or greater at LGA this summer so far through yesterday.

This may be the new record since there were only 32 days during the 2010 summer.

LGA cools off as well as a subway station lol...In any event, have had 10 days here of 75+ mins, versus 8 in 2010 so hot indeed.
