Where's the front?

Winds are northeast in the Hudson Valley and just about all of Connecticut and extreme northern NJ according to the latest NWS obs.

Edit: as of the 10pm Obs, Teterboro and Bronx Botanical Gardens have northerly component winds with a rising barometer. South of there winds still have a southerly component with a steady barometer.

Impressive line there, along I 80 and nearing the GWB. More than I expected. Wonder how much makes it across the Hudson.

More than I expected as well.  Still coming down pretty hard, but it's beginning to slow down.  Hopefully it stays together and gets across the river.

Should close out the remainder of the month with closer to normal temps than the record warmth we have seen through the 23rd.

Departures should slowly shrink from the record levels that we have today. But another top ten warmest September is still in the cards

for several locations. NYC is tied with the previous record warmest September just last year and LGA is ahead of the record 2005.

Peak departures reached on 9/23 will slowly shrink back

NYC.....74.5...+5.3....record 2015....74.5

LGA...76.4....+6.0.....record 2005....74.9

BDR...73.0....+5.5....record 2015....71.1
