TLH measuring 90+ mph winds at 200ft.

One thing to note about TLH is that the airport is located on the SW periphery of the town (adjacent to the Appalachicola National Forest), for those who are not familiar with the local geography.  The airport is also significantly lower in elevation than the town (81 ft vs 200+ ft).  Big winds, for sure.  Could be even worse in eastern parts of TLH.  I live in the northeast part of town where US319 meets I-10.

Am I gonna get something interesting from Hermine here in SE New England (Providence RI area) Or should I just not bother with it anymore?

Depends upon your location.  If you live along the South Coast/ Cape/ Islands we should see some pretty gusty conditions given the pressure gradient alone.  20-40+ gusts starting on Sunday and into Monday I would guess and maybe longer if the thing continues to wobble around midweek and eventually slide out S of us.  Rains likely won't be prolific but we may see a solid slug of rain along the southern area of New England.

Watching the http://weather.cod.edu/satrad/nexrad/index.php?type=CLX-N0Q-1-24 radar he looks like he's trying to sneak back out over the water.

Some of the short term models, HRRR for example have this offshore by 02z. Even if she skirts the coast there, all of that land between Savannah and Charleston is wetlands.

Hermine is a she.

I knew I should've stayed gender neutral!  I just thought if she was a she her name would be Hemine :weenie:, plus you'd think I would've known that since my last name is Garcia lol.  Thanks for the clarification:D

Back on topic since the NHC doesn't expect transitioning to begin for another 48 hrs and if SHE get's back over water in the next few hours south of CLX if she could retain her warm core longer than they thought and maybe even strengthen sooner than they thought.

I'm starting to get concerned about Norfolk/Hampton Roads. Won't Hermine be a fairly significant flooding event for that area?

http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/forecasts.php?wfo=AKQ

All the forecasts I've heard other than the NWS say just minor coastal flooding...

Am I overestimating the effects of a 3 foot+ storm surge?

From a FB post; adds some insights to those SurgeCam pix last night:

Cedar Key Bed and Breakfast

Update from hurricane Hermine...
To all my family, friends, and my very special guests who have stayed and will be coming to the Bed and Breakfast

Cedar Key was hit very hard from the surge. The surge was somewhere around 6-11 feet. Many of the shops and restaurants downtown have flood damage. There is debris everywhere and private docks uprooted. Some of the roads have been washed out and there is a beached whale and dolphin along Airport Rd. The Faraway Inn across the street from me had some of the walls on there lower units taken out. All in all the Hermine hurricane did a lot of damage though out our special town.
I have been blessed that the Bed and Breakfast was not affected in any way along with my townhouse. All is well there.
It will take some time to get Cedar Key back on tract but Cedar Key is tough and things will be restored as fast as possible.
Please do not hesitate to call us or make reservations. We will let you know what businesses are up and running when you contact us.
Thank you for your loyalty and business!
God bless you all and please pray for a fast
recovery.

Am I missing something here or does the NHC have this restrengthening in not a "post tropical" hurricane on Monday?

No, you are not missing something.  From the NHC discussion:

Note that the NHC forecast shows Hermine as a post-tropical cyclone
in about 48 hours, but model fields do not show it undergoing a
full extratropical transition, as it instead appears to acquire a
warm seclusion structure. There is a possibility that the system
could regain some tropical characteristics in 4-5 days, but this
remains uncertain

That is crazy... are there any historical analogs for this?

Wow... when the cam went down last night it actually looked to be in decent shape.

Things must have gotten really out of hand after that.

Flooding could also have caused the foundation to give way.

They said the inside was irreparably damaged by water

The building may still be standing, but the structure may have taken so much damage from wave action that it cannot be restored. It will likely be condemned and claimed as a total loss by the insurance company. The stilts/piles may be rebuilt upon if they are cleared by a structural engineer, otherwise, those may have to be reset as well.
