CoastalWx
4/4 pretty much broke my stereotypes of daytime April snow. That was an event that really impressed the hell out of me. I've personally never witnessed that done (cannot remember April 1982).

Not bad for April 4th (edit: for some reason they appear sideways...not sure why)

The next closest April high temp is 26F in 1995. Interestingly, nothing from the cold period in the 1960s and 1970s comes close to those...no sub-30F highs at all. You have to go back to 1923 to get the next sub-30F high of 28F. Probably one of the more impressive stretches in April didn't even set any record low maxes at ORH...but nonetheless it is only the 2nd time where 3 consecutive days couldn't break freezing in April: From April 7-9, 2003, there were 3 consecutive highs of 32F. It would have been 5 consecutive 32F highs if 4/6/03 had pulled it off because 4/5/03 also had a 32F high...but 4/6/03 made it to 35F. The other period was 1982...impressive highs of 28, 21, and 32 from April 6-8, 1982. Northern Maine is a different world, and April 5-9, 1982 in Ft. Kent had highs of 24,24,17,23,27, with those 5 days averaging 23/9. As April 2,3 had highs of 30,32, only the 37 on 4/4 blocked an 8-day run. (The 4th also brought 6.5" snow, the bulk of a 9" event.) We were considerably milder than ORH on April 7-9, 2003, with highs of 38,40,39 - must've had more sun. The 4th-5th had highs of 29,24, the latter my coldest April high here. This past April 4 we had no snow and only a thin overcast, and the high of 29 was one of the least cold in New England.

You can easily see sub-zero lows in central/northern Maine right into early-April (ok maybe "Easy" is a bit strong, but it definitely happens and isn't a total shock)....whereas it becomes unheard of in SNE. OSUmetstud
Moncton, NB got over 62" officially January 31st-February 3rd, 1992 in a single storm. I'd like to believe that is one of the highest totals in a single synoptic storm in a non-mountainous area.

Totally snow covered roads during mid afternoon on April 4th is pretty impressive. Kind of reminds you have variable the weather is year to year in the late March- Early April timeframe.
