GramaxRefugee
0.20" in the electric gauge, could be more in the real one. Lots of rumbling thunder, (near constant), but I guess we were mostly on the fringe here. Temp down to

I was just looking at that. We're in for a stormy night it that stuff makes it up here. Looks like it's actually getting stronger.

smokeybandit
Well this was a good test for the recoverbility of my home brew security camera system after a power outage. Massive failure. Grr.

Stormpc
Classic shelf cloud with piping hot winds coming down. Probably 10 degrees warmer than 5 minutes ago.
Kmlwx
Pretty good wind signature on velocity scans coming north. We'll see how the exact track shakes out. Looks like the area between Fairfax and Alexandria and then farther north could be in play if it keeps strength and path.

I'm not liking it because it looks west of me. Looks like DC might get crushed areas just to the west. Looks like a hose to the SW of that, also. Looks interesting for the time being. Kmlwx
Would guess that it'll gust out before it gets close to me. But still watching radar - looks like heavy rain at the very least.
Kmlwx
Has been an interesting radar watching day. Lots of different trajectories on radar. Seems a lot of that stuff in VA has been lifting north recently. I was seeing more easterly component earlier which seems to not be as much the case anymore. Generally but not always what happened earlier saps the atmosphere of great volatility Well it's already apparent from velocity scans that the damaging wind threat isn't really there anymore. But I don't see much of a reason most of us west of say a line from Haymarket up to Gaithersburg or so shouldn't get heavy rain and storms again.
