Nice supercell with rotation for a few hours. Amazing. I'm in Holtsville, looking out the window all day while working and my boss asks me "you know anything about this tornado warning?" I check NOAA, and there it is. Then I check the news but I don't see anything on the news yet. Crazy!

Rjay
The rotation looked pretty tight for a frame or 2 but was mostly broad and now it weakened.

ForestHillWx
If the 86/84 was for Dover, NJ, then I guess it was. However, being 10 minutes southwest on Dover-Chester Road, there was no time remotely near the 90's when that screen shot was posted. I'm impressed by the temperature disparity. My apologies. I looked too quick on the screen grab.

LongBeachSurfFreak
I try not to complain on this board but wow did the south shore get screwed today. I think it's evident that south shore summer droughts even effect tree type and growth. Just take the northern state through northern Nassau for reference. 100' plus tulip trees, sweet Gums, ashes, oaks and many more. That area sits on the axis of the coastal front. We had a beautiful tulip tree stand in wantagh just south of wantagh high school growing up. 20+ trees over 100' and they all died during the drought of August 98. bluewave
Haven't heard any possible damage yet with the tornado warned cell, but a person called a NYC news station and said it was the heaviest rain that they have seen in their whole time living out there. There was a weak tornado reported in North Haven, CT. https://nwschat.weather.gov/p.php?pid=201608102141-KOKX-NOUS41-PNSOKX
