Have we seen and official station hit an 80 DP yet? That to me is more impressive than actually hitting 100

The only 80 I could find so far around our immediate area was the 81 dew point last weekend at JFK.

There was an 80 DP yesterday up in Orange County.

A station in my town is also showing a DP of 80 as well.

That 80 from last week at an official station like JFK is wild. I don't think I've ever heard of a DP of 80 around here. (Officially).

You could escape the worst of the heat a bit today in Miami or Cuba:

MIA: 86/74

Havana: 84/72

Agree Tom but 2013 had some impressive heat/Dew points in July but this has a little more bite and staying power.  Heights look to rise again to close August into Sep...

Yeah, I forgot about the 2013 one. That was an absolutely torrid / Cancun like stretch from late June to late July, then summer essentially ended after that.

That may have been only the second 80 degree dew point at an official ASOS major station since Newark on 7/15/95.

I've got 89.2/80 here right now. My station reported a maximum dew point of 82F thus far, though that is probably slightly high. Nevertheless, extremely impressive. Dew points along the equator in South America are lower than ours currently. Incredible tropical moisture feed.

Yeah I've recorded 80 degree dp last couple days...PWS do measure higher dp's at times. The new temp/humidity sensor available for the vantage pro is more accurate in that regard.

Yeah I upgraded to the new model (DVP2 plus) last fall, and the dew points seem to be more accurate and in line with the nearest ASOS. I'm guessing there's only an error bar of +/- 1.5 degrees.
