gravitylover
I did a loop yesterday from home up the HV and Taconics then across to Pittsfield and down Rt7 and Rt 22. Dry doesn't even begin to describe it. Trees are changing everywhere, leaves are falling, creeks are dry, corn is brown, assorted other crops are wilting and brown/dead. The only areas that appear healthy are marshes and areas around reservoirs or artificially watered parts of farms and lawns and some north facing aspects that have held their moisture better but wind exposed faces are dry too. We need a tropical storm (or three.)

Oh, and 48 did it for the low again this morning IMBY with 46 the lowest of the season thus far, maybe I clip that tomorrow morning.

snywx
Looks like most of us are on pace for the 3rd night of lows in the 40s this season. Some areas in Sullivan/Ulster may sneak a 38/39. Currently 53/
JerseyWx
Surprisingly I'm still awaiting 40s down here in Morris County. Tonight would probably be the best bet, unless tomorrow can pull something off.

Juliancolton
41.8 for a low, but surprisingly I barely cooled off at all after about 1 am. I guess the southerly low-level flow was strong enough to counteract the good radiating conditions.

IrishRob17
.33 in my bucket when I left the house about 30 minutes ago. Unless there's a large shift to the north, which isn't likely, looks like the best rains will be to my south and east...as is tradition.
gravitylover
Yeah we got a bit of rain last night too but not as much as you, .13". Looks like a decent slug incoming though. I'd like to get enough to soak the top layer of the yard so I can do some work, it's been rock hard and I don't like working that hard.

gravitylover
^^ Haha WU station closest to me has .32" for the day, seems about right. It was steady for a few hours so maybe it soaked in a bit rather than just all running off like the last few. I did notice over the last few days that the big reservoirs around here have really taken a hit and are quite low.

MattyR
Just one more poor showing in a long line of under-performering precip events since February 14, 2014.
gravitylover
On the upside, it stayed moist overnight and into this morning. The fog was pea soup thick and everything is wet. Good for letting what did fall soak in so maybe the surface won't dry out as much as it had until the next rain. Trying to be optimistic... UlsterCountySnowZ
Whew, Accuweather says snow Dec 15th and they're 58% confident! Seems legit, think we should start a storm thread? in all seriousness, why does that stupid site go 2 months out?
Animal
alright, make your calls for winter. Summer wast a bust again. Not one severe t-storm or rain event. WTF My call on my street. Snow - 60 inches. One event in October, November. A modest large storm around x mas. normal snows remainder of the year. Max event 9.6 to 13.5 inches. Cold temps - max low at my home - negative 7 below in February. Hope, I get the magical 3 ft'r in January.
