Rock888
This event reminds me so much of 08/04/15 last year where a storm with crazy lightning and thunder woke me up around 1 am in Queens. Those storms continued to blow up and slammed Long Island just before dawn with multiple microburst and lots of damage.

JerseyWx
Here our grass is the greenest and lushest it's been in quite awhile. Compared this to last year around this time and into September which was very dry around here, so the grass really dried out and turned brown, as did the tree leaves. North shore from just about commack on west to western nassau is all green. Despite the near misses this weekend, my area is still green thanks to some rain last week. Crazy gradient on the island, once again.
