HillsdaleMIWeather
Disco for above day 2 map. Seems right, only the NAM hints at more widespread severe further east

hawkeye_wx
The western end of the line has run out of southward momentum and is only crawling into Cedar Rapids. Meanwhile, the western line is racing eastward across central Iowa and the two lines should merge around here.

cyclone77
Nearly continuous flashes dancing across the northern sky now. Southerly winds have kicked up a bit as well. Thinking we're going to get quite a bit of rain in the next few hours.
Geos
Starting to see the flashes here now. Hoping for at least 0.5" of rain. 71/67 currently.
Mogget
Wind, thunder, and rain here in Albany, WI. Picked up .72 inches so far.
hawkeye_wx
The line built westward strongly, but it stalled only a couple miles north of my house. The far north side of CR is getting nailed. I wouldn't be surprised to see a flash flood warning for someone. I'm just getting some deep rumbles at the moment.
cyclone77
Outflow blowing through here. Still not a drop of rain. Severe threat over here, but heavy rain threat still in place. Morrison, just to the north is already quickly approaching 1" of rain.
Geos
Pouring down rain. Some thunder and lightning, but not crazy.
hawkeye_wx
Sheesh.... now a flash flood warning a few miles north of my house, but because the line is actually inching back north I am getting nothing. I may actually only get a quick downpour from the line racing in from the west. Just a bit of bad luck tonight.
cyclone77
Heavy rain falling now. Not much wind. Would love to stay up and watch, but have to get up in 4hrs lol. Be nice to fall to sleep with heavy rain on the roof.
DaveNay
Wow. Heavy rain and wind here south of DKB. Very intense lightning and thunder. Want expecting this. Woke me out of bed when it hit. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
hawkeye_wx
I didn't get the 2+ inches of rain the far north side of CR got, but the merging of the two lines really produced a nice storm here. We initially got a 50+ mph gust (CR airport 63 mph) and then it was just a ton of lightning (only low rumbles, though) with solid wind and heavy rain. It was one of the top two storms of the season. I'm certainly satisfied.
HillsdaleMIWeather
I am kind of surprised that the Day 3 isn't further north from the last few GFS runs
CoalCityWxMan
Line held together pretty well for coming through at 4AM. Still some severe gusts in spots. Definitely a welcomed rain maker for many. Round one of many more to come this week!
A-L-E-K
Nice line this morning Good timing too, should get plenty unstable later
CoalCityWxMan
Nice line this morning Good timing too, should get plenty unstable later Exactly. It's rare we get a decent MCS through early in the day that doesn't screw up storm prospects for later
A-L-E-K
beautiful spider lightning with the heavy stratiform rain this morning....really nice
hawkeye_wx
I finished with 0.98" of rain. My gauge always seems to have more than I expect, as well as more than the surrounding school stations. It appears cyclone received well over two inches.
RCNYILWX
beautiful spider lightning with the heavy stratiform rain this morning....really niceQuite the light show out there. Got called in early to the office. We should have enough time to recover and destabilize later but question is how far north storms refire on remnant MCV moving from central IA currently to northern IL this afternoon. Jim Marusak
Looks like the Minneapolis area finally got into some good storms. Hope the crew from up there didn't lose power for too long if they did. lost it in my part of St Paul from 630/645 to ~115 this morning. a 2-3" branch was down near my apt as well as several 1" ones. but south of me by ~1-2 miles near Front and Rice they had a 6" bough take down some power lines. and 67mph at Holman Field near downtown was impressive (~1-2 miles south of Front/Rice, like 3 from my place). I also periscoped what I could for about 40-45 mins last night, and it should be available for replay.
