Near term /through Monday/...
as of 400 PM EDT Sunday...

A weak wedge has erode some today from Bluefield, West Virginia
to Wilkesboro, North Carolina and points southwest. Even though
weak, there exits some cape for scattered thunderstorms this
evening
where The Wedge has eroded. Models reestablished The
Wedge overnight then removes it all together Monday. A frontal
boundary will stall over the southern Ohio Valley into northern
Virginia overnight. A series of disturbance will then track along
this boundary through Monday night. With each wave, there will be
a round of showers and thunderstorms. With above normal pwats,
rainfall amounts could range from 1 to 3 inches, especially areas
north of I-64. If the frontal boundary and axis of heavy rain
shifts to the south Monday, the Flash Flood Watch may need an
areal extension,
but for now, will confide the watch to
Greenbrier, WV and Alleghany and Bath counties in Virginia.
