This down radar is killin me today...trying to figure out operations on the mountain while folks are all over the place in the trees, on the ziplines, hiking the ridge, etc and not knowing what's coming is an interesting challenge.

.EQUIPMENT...

National Weather Service Doppler radar in Colchester, VT (KCXX)

is down this morning due to a hardware failure, which began around

0330Z. Electronic technicians will diagnose this morning and then

we`ll have a better idea of a return to service time. Thanks for

your patience.

GYX and TYX probably have you covered at 15,000 feet.

Spinners?

Meh, low level wind fields are pretty weak. Maybe something accidentally tips a trash can, but not a true tornado environment.

Actually probably more conducive to waterspout/landspout kind of day. Lots of low level CAPE, some boundaries scattered around, and weak shear.

Pretty crappy setup to warn on today - lots of pulsers all over. SPC mesoanalysis does show 30-35 knots of effective shear over RI so maybe that's a reason why that storm was able to get organized compared to the ones back here.

BTV just pulled the trigger on one that went 60 dBZ to 32 kft on the TYX radar. I'd hit that.

one of the smallest severe warned cells i ever recall, plus its  not moving and now has a tiny flash flood warning

Well RI is the tiny center of the world. Looks like its just south of Route 6 near Johnston most likely over the RI Reservoir and mainly small pop centers.
