Typhoon Tip
i tell ya ... whatever does develop is going to be hauling ass - i'm a big fan of actual physical structures to make some at least partial assessment, and the CU TCU around are leaners .. big time. like more than 45 degrees in some cases

CoastalWx
Some nice TCU on south coast sea breeze front visible from Green Harbor in Marshfield. That's where the juice is relatively speaking.
CoastalWx
kI in mid 30s so there is moisture. It's just so warm at 500. But dam, sort of a powder keg too. Good shear and CAPE as others mentioned.
TheBudMan
Is NE MA totally cooked or do we have chance of that line in NYS intensifying. Seems odd SPC upgraded at midday and it's been so quiet
Typhoon Tip
the more i think about this the less i'm liking it .. put it this way - how many times when there was paltry CAPE did we mock it but then ended up having to sock it, because the Lapse rates were huge and overcame a theta-e starved column? ...in fact, New England actually gets most of their action from mechanical forcing and/or lapse rates, working in proportion to one another. what do we NOT really have much of right now? Lapse rates... CAPE doesn't mean much if there's no way to strike a match. we do, however, have some mechanical forcing in terms of the front and linear altitude velocity/shear. hmm
