DISCUSSION...SEVERAL AREAS OF STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS ARE ONGOING FROM PA ACROSS NY AND INTO SRN NEW ENGLAND. THE MAIN WIND THREAT APPEARS TO BE WITH A CLUSTER OF CELLS MOVING OUT OF ERN NY AND INTO SRN VT/NH AND WRN MA ALONG A WARM FRONT. MUCH COOLER AIR EXISTS OVER SERN NEW ENGLAND...AND THE WIND THREAT IS NOT EXPECTED THAT FAR E. HOWEVER...DAMAGING WIND MAY OCCUR ACROSS NRN CT WHERE TEMPERATURES REMAIN VERY WARM. TO THE S...THE AIR MASS REMAINS QUITE UNSTABLE WITH ISOLATED STRONG STORMS INCREASING OVER ERN PA/NJ AND FAR SRN NY. SHEAR ACROSS SRN AREAS IS WEAK AS SEEN IN 00Z SOUNDINGS...BUT INSTABILITY MAY BE ENOUGH FOR LOCALIZED WIND GUSTS. TO THE W...ANOTHER LINE OF STORMS CURRENTLY EXTENDS FROM WRN NY INTO WRN PA ALONG AN ADVANCING OUTFLOW. Typhoon Tip
the cooler air in place E of 191 in western Mass should protect areas from wind threat ... but I'm wondering if the back side of this bad boy flips the wind SW anyway... as in, scours out the vomit -
ice1972
Nice outflow boundary in NW CT off the storm entering WMA.....heading SE should spark more storms in CT?

weatherwiz
There needs to be a TDWR at BDL this is ridiculous. Trying to look at velocity products and they just went to **** in all sites.
radiator
OK, spoke too soon - lightning within a mile, started raining on my DSLR that I had sitting on the front deck, now it's pouring here... Hope it knocks the temp down a bit, no AC here... Edit: 9:57 PM I really should pay more attention to my android radar app - it just made the strangest beeping noise and it looks like my area was just warned for SVR. Of course, it has passed me by, but I'm still within the yellow outline.

CT Valley Snowman
Awesome light show for over 30 minutes. Several close strikes, power flashed 3 times but stayed on. Gust front was maybe 35 mph here, better just to the south.

Some of the most intense lightning you can get...it's every second there's a new flash. True strobe light stuff. I'd estimate 30mph here on the leading edge. Enough for whole trees to get in motion but not going to damage anything. Very heavy rain.
