Michael05192016
Looking like a 4-5 day 95-100 degree heatwave for urban areas from day 7/13-7/18. I wonder if this one is finally real. Big time severe akin to 1995, if the Euro is right for the Midwest and Northeast, towards the end of that timeframe.

Brian5671
There's no threat to anyone east of the bdcf. yeah, most models like NJ for storms today-they make it east but weaken significantly as they run into the stable marine layer

weathermedic
11am OBS across Long Island have most reporting stations with cloudy skies and NE-ENE winds. Temps in the 70's, except Montauk and the Hamptons in at 69 with a NE wind gusting to around 20 mph.

NJwx85
The BDCF is part of the reason for the prolific rainfall amounts over NJ today. Think of it acting like a brick wall.
nesussxwx
Partly cloudy, up to 91.

weathermedic
NWS should drop the heat advisory for the city with all stations now in the low-mid 80s.
Brian5671
NWS should drop the heat advisory for the city with all stations now in the low-mid 80s. another over-performing back door front. Models have been historically terrible with these.
SnowGoose69
Here is your brick wall. If you live where the blue shading is, you're more than likely going to stay dry today. The NWS has pulled all thunder from the TAFs for LGA JFK and other airports further east so they are leaning that way for sure due to onshore flow from the east. NJwx85
Mostly sunny and 88 here with a HI of 93. It definitely doesn't feel quite as oppressive today as it did the last two.

Sundog
Christ not everything is in your backyard...hit 90 here so its my first official heat wave and believe my 12th 90 of the year If the BDCF came farther west and/or earlier than expected by forecasters then it is considered over performing. It has nothing to do with someone's location.
