Best storm I have seen here in years! Been a good summer for convection

Strongest since sandy! Thanks for the map

I got the weakened version of the storm here in SW Suffolk. Wind gusts 30-40 mph with small branches and leaves blown off the trees.

Heavy downpours and just some lightning.

Hmmph. Only had some brief heavy rain here in Lindenhurst. No wind and just a few rumbles of thunder towards the end. Not worth the extra steaminess the air seems to now be carrying IMO.

I was on the northern edge of that severe cell as it moved right along the South Shore.

At work in Jamaica, Queens was basically in a hole. Impressive dark skies all around, thought we were going to get nailed with that wind core but only had some intermittent showers and a few gusts. Didn't really even see any flashes of lightning. Looks like the storm weakened rapidly and split right before our area.

Ah it must have just missed us here then!  Glad you lucked out with it, bluewave.  I always forget where you are located and it's not displaying on my mobile.  Remind me again?
