That may actually be why it bombed out as the block slowed everything down and allowed it to amplify behind it. This is about how the northern branch phases with the STJ That's true. It sounds to me like the confluence may have been the killer in the other runs. From what tombo is saying it looks like the confluence gets out in time on the EURO because it's slower. Agree...surface low is too far south and trough is too zonal over the Atlantic. We'd want some higher heights there. EDIT: Maybe I spoke too soon, sounds like it's trying to turn the corner.
