Kmlwx
My company sent out a tornado alert via its alert system. Too bad it was 30 minutes after the fact and 10 minutes after the alert expired. You should get an injury from flying debris and then sue for the late warning. #profit

osfan24
So is this line it? The warning is until 2 AM? I expected some firing of cells behind this but I guess not?
ThePhotoGuy
Some nice wind gusts so far and heavy rain. A couple close lightning. Was hoping for some nice cloud structure shots but no luck.
Kmlwx
So is this line it? The warning is until 2 AM? I expected some firing of cells behind this but I guess not? 1) It's a Severe Tstm Watch - no warning would go that long. 2) watches are long fused and often get cancelled early. It happens like this almost every time unless it's a very long fused event.

Good old "Mid Atlantic Severe". Looks like howard county was the winner today with about a half dozen wind reports.

I know they are usually much longer than the actual action, but it still seems a bit ridiculous.

I mean it's to account for every portion of the watch. Often if storms are moving from one end to the other it's very reasonable and not ridiculous to expect them to have cleared one part of the watch area but not another. Sure it may not last until 9pm (the ending time). but that's why they clear the watch box incrementally.
