Kmlwx
The cell entering western MoCo has really weakened. Tops are down in the 30-40 range.

CentralVaGirl
Good luck with that 70 mph storm! Richmond is just barely recovered from the one last Thursday night. I think we can finally spare some bucket trucks if you need them. Some folks just got power today.

Kmlwx
Very little lightning showing up with the MoCo cell now. Maybe it'll rejuvenate. Doubtful. Also - GFS looks "okay" for Thursday - not great.

The one leaving the WV panhandle isn't terrible looking for our yards. At least not yet.

Hank Scorpio
Hah, just got put under my 4th severe tstorm warning of the day. I don't think any of them have met the official severe storm criteria, although the hail in the third one was very very close to 3/4".Let's see what this 4th storm holds for Ashburn. Ian
Pattern rec says Thursday should be even better IMO. Yeah I think it has a higher top end potential than today which I noted up front of this thread but it's also more complicated around here. Nice to get this kind of shear one way or another.. another big shear day Thurs. I kinda doubt we're done either, pattern seems to want to reload for next week. mappy
Nice pic! That's where we should be having the end July AmWx get-together! It would be like the pool scene in Caddyshack. Regarding storms, it's getting super-humid here, but looks like my storm is taking I 70. Haha thanks! Love our yard. Perfect for entertaining. midatlanticweather
Had .12" until about 20 minutes ago! .72" now! That was fast! Gutters overwhelmed! Some small penny or less sized hail at the beginning!
Kmlwx
Pattern rec says Thursday should be even better IMO. Talk severe to me Yeah I think it has a higher top end potential than today which I noted up front of this thread but it's also more complicated around here. Nice to get this kind of shear one way or another.. another big shear day Thurs. I kinda doubt we're done either, pattern seems to want to reload for next week. I'm going to put my fingers in my ears and pretend I didn't hear the part about Thursday being complicated (which will result in my failing big time I'm sure). Bolded part sounds great, though. Bring it on. Even though I personally didn't see anything particularly interesting IMBY today it was fun to track and watch the radar. Chalk this one up as another super cell day in the area too. Plenty lately!
Fozz
Not an impressive day IMBY, but it was amazing a few miles south. Thank goodness this isn't a snowstorm

Amped
Nice supercell storm mode, if only we had more cape and shear.
mattie g
Dumped 1.44" just before I got fringed by the heavy rain (and some lightning) that hit northern Fairfax about 45 minutes ago. Looks like I might just miss the next cell that's out in Loudoun, as well. Not really concerned. Got a good enough dumping earlier that I don't need any more right now. I'm scarred for life from TS Lee.
dailylurker
1.60 from round one. .50 from the second storm. 2.10" for the day. Some localized flooding going on here in AA county.
