Seems the issue we will have to deal with for Thursday is a morning batch of heavy rain and storms. The NAM really squashes some of the better CAPE due to this. I'd definitely continue to lean south and west. We'll probably need to hope for that big batch of rain to be wrong if you want severe. Though it's been on multiple consecutive runs. Or perhaps hope for it to clear out quickly. It's still pouring on sim radar at 15z Thursday.

The 12z GFS seems to not have it (or rather not have as much) morning precip and really blows up convection by afternoon.

Sunny, 80 and humid. .10" from the rain earlier. Don't think anything out west will hit tonight. Hopefully Thursday produces up this way...

Hmmm...storm in western HoCo moving north east.  Looks like I've got more rain on the way, and maybe it'll make its way further north for you.

Some pretty wicked effective shear available to these storms approaching the BWI/DCA corridor from the WNW.

Nice pic!  That's where we should be having the end July AmWx get-together!  It would be like the pool scene in Caddyshack.

Regarding storms, it's getting super-humid here, but looks like my storm is taking I 70.  :(
