LOT is just not getting good communication coordination tonight from emergency management, spotters, fire and police, etc.    I would also have thought a tornado emergency would have been issued for Pontiac since a TOG was reported nw of there.

they seemed delayed to the public.

Jeff say's first tornado hit Northwest side of Ponitac, extreme powerflashes now happening.

New Tornado now hitting the southeast side of Ponitac, he's calling it a "major tornado", whole city out of power.

Dude, we don't need the play by play from his feed, plus he likes to over exaggerate a lot...

NWS Chicago says this could have been and be the big one

.MESOSCALE DISCUSSION...

Tornado recently occurred in/near Pontiac per reports of power
flashes and tornadic damage signatures on radar and may still be
continuing as it moves southeast. Pontiac airport gusted to 59
knots from the northeast as well indicative of the cyclonic
circulation. This supercell storm remains discrete with favorable
environmental parameters ahead of this storm. Reflectivity tags
are noted and as these translate this mesocyclone it appears to
tighten/strengthen. So some undulating in intensity could occur
at this progresses east-southeast. Parameters remain in place for
a significant strength tornado despite the time of day.

I'm really struggling to understand why the cell between Clifton and Watseka isn't tornado warned. It's night time, and that cell looks like it could produce at any minute. Give people some warning here.

They are going with a strongly worded severe warning, I personally would sector that out for a TW considering the circulation has been very persistent

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1100 PM

CDT/MIDNIGHT EDT/ FOR NORTHERN IROQUOIS...NORTH CENTRAL FORD...

SOUTHERN JASPER...NORTHWESTERN BENTON AND NEWTON COUNTIES...

AT 1021 PM CDT/1121 PM EDT/...SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG

A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR RENSSELAER TO ASHKUM...MOVING SOUTHEAST

AT 45 MPH. RADAR INDICATED ROTATION IS INDICATED JUST EAST OF ASHKUM

AND CLIFTON.

THESE ARE VERY DANGEROUS STORMS.

HAZARD...80 MPH WIND GUSTS AND NICKEL SIZE HAIL.

Worried about ver. rates. Yeah that circulation is very close I'd warn even though radar doesn't have it on the ground. Strong circulation.
