June 12-18 Severe/Heavy Rain Threats/Possibilities

Recommended Posts

Torrential rain here and really loud thunder.

Power now out here. We lost it for a minute in the middle of the storm but after coming back on it dropped again and now out for a while. 1153 customers affected in town here with an estimated restore time of 3:45 a.m. according to status page.

...OH/TN VALLEYS... SOME RESIDUAL CLOUD COVER PERSISTS PARTICULARLY ACROSS OH/SOUTHERN INDIANA AND PARTS OF THE TN VALLEY NEAR MULTIPLE BANDS OF CONVECTION/OUTFLOW. MIDDAY VISIBLE SATELLITE IMAGERY CONTINUES TO SUGGEST THAT AMPLE INSOLATION WILL OCCUR AHEAD AND BEHIND THESE SMALL RESIDUAL CONVECTIVE CLUSTERS...WITHIN A RICHLY MOIST AIR MASS CHARACTERIZED BY UPPER 60S TO MIDDLE 70S SURFACE DEW POINTS. RENEWED SCATTERED STORM DEVELOPMENT IS EXPECTED THROUGH THE AFTERNOON ALONG REMNANT OUTFLOW BOUNDARIES AND WITH AID OF A POSSIBLE MCV OVER THE LOWER OH RIVER VALLEY AT MIDDAY. STRONG INSTABILITY AND MODEST DEEP SHEAR SHOULD SUPPORT SEVERAL GENERALLY SOUTHEASTWARD-MOVING SEMI-ORGANIZED CLUSTERS WITH DAMAGING WINDS AS THE PRIMARY HAZARD.

Dont see these renewed cells in Central OH forming yet

25-30 kts of widespread shear, deep instability rolling in, and a CU field in NW Indiana are all terrific signs for today's chances. I'm very interested in the lapse rates later today. If we can get the 7-8° that the RAP on the Mesoanalysis is showing then we may see some damn good hailers

Rush hour around IND may be a mess. Cluster of storms on the north side puttin' it down. The only reports so far, however, are peas to nickles. Indystorm is seeing some action.

Yup, but nothing to write home about with the first cell.  Now under a svr warning till 5 p.m. and the second cell may be more intense.

Probably. These storms seem outflow dominant.

Cells seem to be gaining a bit more rotation in WI, getting closer to the warm front.

Making a play on that south cell. Sw of Appleton about ten miles. Little towers keep shooting here but failing so definitely going to head further west for the svr cell.
