Was looking at 10"+ cocorahs rain totals through the NE states for MET summer. Not surprising with how convective season has gone, VT with most 10"+ totals from 6/1. Top 8 stations are in VT. (my station is number is number 7--top 6 are all in NVT after the crushing they got yesterday/last night)-- After that there is a station in CT at number 9.

VT-46 stations above 10"

CT-10 stations above 10"

ME-8 stations above 10"

NH-7 stations above 10"

Ma-2 stations above 10"

RI-0 stations above 10"

I'm guessing that the Maine locations are in the north.  The 0.80" from this last event brings my met summer total to 8.10", which is about 3.5" under my average.  Light showers continued in Greenville until about noon yesterday, keeping the woods nice and wet for our excursion, much of which came in areas thick with seedlings and saplings having leaves at face level.  "Any day in the woods is better than a day in the office."

Garden is nicely watered now, but the nearby rivers didn't react much, will be back under median flow by tomorrow.

Todays drought monitor has really  expanded the area of extreme drought in the southern most part of our area.  Eastern Mass, SE NH and SW Maine are the hardest hit areas. Just watching Channel 9 out of Manchester NH and their graphic shows Manchesterhas had 13.02" of rain this year and should be at 27.76" at this time.  Less than half of yearly rainfall.  Of course as you go further  north the more rain has fallen.  PF we could use some of your copious rainfalls down here.    A  tropical type system would really help out.  NH Governor Maggie Hassan has declared a drought declaration for much of NH.  The good thing about many of the towns in the Boston area is that they get water from the Quabbin Reservoir which is around 90% of capacity.

I'd have to go with the one at 2,000 near Mt. Vanhoevenburg as being the snowiest since it has the most elevation and latitude. My best guess is that spot probably averages in the 110-120" per year range, maybe more. I'm not quite as familiar with Adirondack snowfall patterns as I am New England, but I do know the western Adirondacks get more lake effect.

Yea I was thinking that's the snowiest location. I've always wondered what the Adirondack loj averages probably around 130-150 would be my guess and I also just hiked to lower ausable lake a few days ago the views were incredible. The high peaks really are special

Storm ova!    .30"   Cloudy right now occ. sprinkles cold NW winds.  For the first time it feels like a fall cold front.  House was so muggy last night and now I'm closing the windows.  Amazing how quick my lawn came back with 2" of rain the past week.

How did New England do as a whole with this past system?  I know PF got creamed as usual and SW NH got some good totals with storms.  Is there a radar simulation of how much rain feel over the whole New England region?  I don't closely follow the radar returns in the real drought areas around E Mass and SE NH and SW Maine.  I know some showers/storms moved through.  Curious how widespread it was.

Next rain/storm chances is with fropa around Monday.

Make sure you click on QPE on the bar above the map. You can drag an area on the map to zoom, and make stuff like this:

Great pictures eyewall.  I would love to get the phantom up in front of a really nice squall line.  Close enough to see the details but far enough to get it down before the wind hits.  What a great picture it would make to see the low hanging scud, sheets of rain and to capture a nice lightning bolt.  With video you could probably catch a few bolts and then just grab the image but you risk the drone.   At my location we have not had a good thunderstorm yet this summer, just a few bolts here and there with weak storms passing either north or south.

Yeah so far that is one chance I haven't been willing to take but it would be awesome.

Also because we have staffing shortages and nearly 100 Coop sites across the CWA, some forecasters are "adopting" sites to maintain through the year. Lakes Region better be on its toes, because this forecaster will be taking care of Tamworth, Meredith, and Lakeport (in addition to the CWSU in Nashua (since I'm the aviation focal point), Hudson, and West Hampstead).

If you'd like, you can maintain my station when I'm gone this fall.  Typically some sort of disaster will bring it down as soon as the wheels on the plane lift off the ground.

Truth be told I wanted Rangeley, but the Lakes Region is a nice consolation prize. Plus having family connections to the area makes it fun to visit for work at least twice a year.

I'm surprised anything reached the ground. Looks like a rather meager 12 dbz pixel flared up right over the junction of 3 & 25.

That was more or less my reaction. Didn't look much different than ground clutter, except it was moving.
