radar looks strangely apocalyptic for just some moderate rain.

did hear one rumble of thunder as the line past east of me.

Eek, how much rain would have to fall to give the grass roots at least some water?  Would .15 to .20" be enough to get through half an inch to an inch into the soil?

wondering the same. Trugreen fertilized yesterday and leaves a note saying we should "water in" with ~1". yeah right. With our well water?

Probably depends on a number of factors including soil type(sandy, clay, loam, etc), current soil moisture/dryness, rate of rainfall, runoff, etc.

I don't know, but you can always just stick a shovel in the lawn and just take a peak, I will do that when I am curious about it.

Yeah it depends on way too many things.  Only way to know for sure is to look.

I got about .17" and most of it doesn't look like it soaked in beyond 2" deep.

Guess I answered my own question.  Went out to the garden with a hoe.  Top 1/4" was wet but under that just dusty dry soil.  Bottom line is it did little for me.  If the soil had been already moist from previous events the .17" probably would have soaked in further.

Turned out to be a fantastic afternoon.  Extremely cool for June 22nd, only 61F at 230pm with about 75% sun vs Cu.  See lots of pop up showers in VT but probably will not make it here.  Enjoying the cool weather before the heat returns.

47F with some thick valley fog. Mostly clear at home though with just some occasional patches of fog rolling through. That's pretty much our perfect setup for radiating...calm conditions and some cooling off the top of the fog layer while deeper into the valley is socked in and saturated.

Porkies are rather inoffensive creatures (when they're not debarking the nicest of the pine saplings), but I've de-quilled dogs enough to not wish any of those rodents be near our house.

I heard strange animal noises the other night in the field.  Pointed the flashlight to see 2 Porkies next to each other.  Don't know if they were fighting or mating.  Once they were in the flashlight beacon they wallowed into the brush.

Took the drone up to Franconia Notch for a quick flight.  Usually a very windy place but was fine yesterday.  What a beautiful part of the country we live in.
