Suncat
It's hard to get into the holiday mood when there are so many green leaves still on the trees.
Brick Tamland
Had a great time yesterday for Halloween. Dressed up as Ric Flair, stylin and profilin. Some folks thought I was Trump, even though I wore aviators and had a world championship wrestling title belt. But most knew who I was, and I got a lot of wooos at work and taking the kids trick or treating. Now it's on to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and hopefully some winter storms to experience. I enjoy Christmas and Christmas music, too, but it's too early for decorations and music now. I have to wait until the day after Thanksgiving, and then it's on. The slew of temp records getting pumped out of AL/GA is amazing. Neat record for Atlanta on the most 80 degree days in a year. Not shocking the other year was recent in 2012. Brick Tamland
What temp do you stop wearing shorts and short sleeve shirts? I stop wearing shorts when it gets below 70, and short sleeve shirts when it gets below 65.

I wore shorts for our first frost up here in the mtns. it has to be below 45 with strong winds before I cover my beautiful legs. I only wear a jacket when it is cloudy and cold. if it's sunny, it's short sleeves lol
southernskimmer
In regards to all of this long range forecasting, and with 0 scientific backup, I am glad we don't all have our hopes up for a big winter like the last couple years. That's when good things happen imo

There are more factors involved...when you get use to it or after real cold spell...high country people will wear shorts and short sleeve shirts generally above 32 degrees. Avdave
Knowing how warm I get and I sweat easily Ill be wearing shorts and t shirts throughout winter unless it is sustainable cold for more than 24 hours, it has to be below 45 degrees though. Maybe shorts with a sweatshirt on the cold days
Snowless in Carrollton
For me, it just depends on how windy it is. If it's 40 degrees and no wind I have no problem wearing shorts.

Brick Tamland
Well, the Cubs won the world series, so maybe we can get a miracle this winter and have a storm with more than 6 inches of snow for a change.
Brick Tamland
We get to turn the clock back an hour Saturday night so it's dark at 5:30 pm, and just slightly less dark at 8:00 am. At least we all get an extra hour of sleep or partying Saturday night.

A January and February like 2014 would be nice as long as we got more precip with it. With those temps, most precip would be wintry. March of 2014 was cold too, and icy in parts of NC.
