The northeast 1/3 to 1/2 of Iowa has had a very different June than the sw half.  The gradient goes from 8 inches in my yard to almost nothing down by Keokuk.

That's quite a contrast. I bet the mosquitoes are pretty bad.

1.41" of rain here so far this month. One of the drier June's.

Gorgeous air mass out there right now with a strong breeze blowing in off the lake with low scud clouds. 66°

Few skeeters here, but their population is definitely below normal for this time in the summer.

Weird year, usually your area is the desert.

 

My area has been wet for the last decade.  2012 is the only year out of the last ten with a below avg precip June and a below avg precip year.

 

I bet the mosquitoes are pretty bad.

 

I spend quite a bit of time outside, but I am not seeing any mosquitos at all.
