SnoSki14
It's been dry but we could live with this. I'm sure we'll be fine a couple of months from now.

Brian5671
you would think with that big western ridge, we'd have seen more wet weather here with our troughs....
bluewave
you would think with that big western ridge, we'd have seen more wet weather here with our troughs.... The ridge trough orientation is acting to suppress much of the rain to our south across the Mid-Atlantic.

Yanksfan
It has been a nice and comfortable summer Yep. No complaints here. As long as our trough holds strong, that will keep the extreme heat out west. We could really use the rain though. Hope there will be some tropical system threats in the coming weeks. Rock888
Weather is beautiful but not a single thunderstorm in my part of Queens since (March? February?). Lame. Last year we already had a few including the badass 06/23/15 storm.

Isotherm
Meteorological half-way point: July 15th; astronomical half-way point: August 5th. By some of the posts, you'd think we were experiencing a very cool June; in reality, most will be finishing slightly warmer than normal. My advice to the cool summer lovers is to enjoy the next couple weeks. Would be very shocked if we remain in this regime for the next two months given expected progression of global indicators and supplementarily, analogs. People have adjusted to the new normal and now think a bit above normal (and that being compared to the warmest 30 year period on record mind you) is actually a bit cool.
