Upgrading parts of the severe watch to a tornado watch now.

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0572 NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK 0529 PM CDT MON MAY 09 2016 AREAS AFFECTED...EASTERN KANSAS....CENTRAL OKLAHOMA...AND EASTERN/NORTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA CONCERNING...SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 154... VALID 092229Z - 092330Z THE SEVERE WEATHER THREAT FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 154 CONTINUES. SUMMARY...CONTINUE WW 154. STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ARE ONGOING ACROSS WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE WATCH AREA...WITH A CONTINUED HAIL AND WIND THREAT. SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE WATCH WERE CONVERTED TO A TORNADO WATCH...AND ADDITIONAL AREAS MAY ALSO NEED TO BE CONVERTED BASED ON LATEST CONVECTIVE TRENDS. DISCUSSION...SCATTERED STRONG/SEVERE CONVECTION CONTINUES...ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN PARTS OF THE DISCUSSION AREA ATTM. THESE STORMS ARE IN AN ENVIRONMENT CHARACTERIZED BY MODERATE INSTABILITY /AROUND 2000-2500 J/KG MUCAPE/ AND SUFFICIENT DEEP SHEAR FOR ORGANIZATION/STORM ROTATION...ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE WATCH. LARGE HAIL IS THE BIGGEST CONCERN WITH THESE STORMS AT THIS TIME...ALTHOUGH DAMAGING WIND WILL BECOME MORE OF A CONCERN AS STORMS HAVE HAD A TENDENCY TO CONGEAL INTO BROKEN LINES ESPECIALLY NEAR/SOUTH OF THE WICHITA METRO AREA AND ADJACENT NORTHERN OKLAHOMA. LOW-LEVEL AND DEEP SHEAR ARE SOMEWHAT STRONGER ACROSS SOUTHERN PORTIONS OF THE WATCH NEAR CENTRAL AND EAST CENTRAL OKLAHOMA. STORM MODE IN THIS REGION IS MORE CELLULAR AS WELL. FOR THESE REASONS...THE TORNADO THREAT WILL BE SOMEWHAT GREATER IN THIS REGION AND PORTIONS OF THIS REGION WERE UPGRADED TO A TORNADO WATCH. ADDITIONAL AREAS MAY NEED UPGRADING...AND TRENDS WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED. ..COOK/CORFIDI.. 05/09/2016

Well if people don't want to go to CO, might as well bring CO to them.

If someone on that chopper caught that with a high-res camera, that will become one of the iconic supercell pictures.

Can't think of a much better time to introduce myself.

Good evening gents. Some pretty amazing storms we're witnessing this evening.

It would appear the bromide storm is beginning to choke out the storm currently tracking toward stonewall, but time will tell the story how these two will interact with one another. Both are still quite strong.

Anyone got anything heading to Tulsa?? I've scanned every radar I can but there is a lot of uncertainty.

Tulsa could certainly be impacted a bit later, yes.
