Sundog
when the next ice age happens and it will... you will have your answer then.... The next ice age has been prevented because the Milankovitch cycles that would line up in a fashion to bring about said ice age have been diminished due to human alteration of the atmosphere. We are actually supposed to be getting slowly cooler over time but of course that's been stopped and the complete opposite is happening.

Morris
51 at midnight. Today would have to reach 70 for it to be an average day. Will we get a 13th consecutive below average day? Models say yes.

bluewave
Great stuff. This blocking pattern continues to be really impressive for the spring. The ensembles are indicating the potential for one of the stronger -EPO drops for the month of May. This follows the near record late March plunge. A fall near or below -250 looks possible this week. If the -EPO can hit -250 or lower, then it would only be the 6th year this happened since 1950. The last time was May 2014. Lowest May -EPO readings since 1950: 5/14/14...-263.59 5/13/93...-279.02 5/14/93...-266.72 5/1/89.....-348.24 5/2/89.....-313.93 5/11/68...-265.23 5/7/57.....-252.
