buckeye
There are definitely some differences at the upper levels between the 12z and 00z, but ultimately, at the surface, it has a similar outcome. which i would think would be a red flag. Afterall, the surface is ultimately a result of the upper levels.

Right.. Seen this played out last yr.. Only thing Ohio can hope for is this sucker really bombs. And then again its back to kissing the Euro's ass for it to happen. Could be right, i guess.

buckeye
They are now analyzing 1996, saying the 500mb maps look very similar. i saw that....ridiculous. 96 was not a bomb, it was a slow chugging wet system that stalled into a pressing arctic high. I don't even think it ever technically reached blizzard conditions....or if it did it was very brief.

I wish I could see the maps damnit lol It may not be the same type storm as 96, but damnit we can hope we get snows out of it anyways.

This is really not a rocket scientist pattern.. I'll take the Euro from watching it and GFS only... You follow way to many models that clouds your normally better than this forecasting.. I'm done... This storm threat is done for many of us. Who cares what model is right now. Ohio aint getting squat unless the Euro throws a weenie back your way. The euro is alone...it's either king or joker, i guess we'll know in a few days...still don't get your hard on for me. baroclinic_instability
so what do you think Baro, looks like the euro is hell bent on finding someway to bomb the coast Yeah I was joking about the GFS haha, a funny reference to the crappy show. ECM looks real amped. I do know the early GFS solutions were not going to be right, and it is nice to see the GFS trending away from its funky solution. Still though, the ECM has to thread a needle here. There really is no sharp/intense leading S/W ejecting over the Gulf Stream to initiate what the ECM has...a coastline hugging mid-Atlantic nuclear bomb. It is a tough call here. Probability wise, 30% or so ECM verifies exactly as is, maybe another 30% CMC solution verifies crushing New England, 40% glancing blow. It does seem a strong coastal will develop though, whether it is a hit remains to be seen. If tomorrow shows another direct hit by the ECM, then the appropriate authorities along the EC may need to be contacted. If this trough had a sharp leading edge S/W ejecting over the Gulf Stream with the exact same setup, I would go much higher on the probability for a crushing EC blow. JayPSU
Go hump the GFS out to sea then What's your problem? The guy brings up a question he has with a model and you attack him for it. Yet later you attack him for model hugging? You can't have it both ways. Either way, no reason to pick a fight here. I suggest you be a little more respectful to those who have done NOTHING to you. BowMeHunter
No doubt the EC has to thread the needle but its very possible the EC gets a big storm and I'll follow it no doubt if they do.. Big winter storms like that fascinate me as we don't get those kinna storms very often. Way more possible than it ever was that this was going to be a big player in the northern OV unless big changes happened.. I never fell for what the Euro or GFS was showing early on in the chase for up here.. And now its just spiraling down the drain to some that bit in to having a chance in other areas. Always next time and that's why we're here

baroclinic_instability
It feels weird with me saying this because usually I am trying to defend myself but honestly everyone can chill out and stop hating. Best to PM the person, deal with it there, and solve any differences so this doesn't boil over into the threads.

BowMeHunter
Its sickening that we cant post anything with ignorant people like you(bow), alek, and moneyman coming on here making snide comments. In my opinion if you wanna make a weather thread a fight thread you should be suspended. Sensitive little weenies yr after yr. All that can be said from me. Its know wonder you guys can't find a home to post.No matter what we say good, bad, truth its never right.
Moneyman
I'm perfectly fine. I just wish Ohio posters could get their own section. Would stop a lot of fighting from posters in the central etc. Just makes sense to me. You guys have quite a few people to keep the section active etc.
